Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Great Milton

Bat & Ball

High St, Cuddesdon, Oxford OX44 9HJ, UK – 01865 874379

In short: a nice, friendly pub with good food. Lovely location in the middle of the rolling South Oxfordshire countryside. Cuddesdon, the village in which the pub is located, is very picturesque. The pub itself has nice decor and very friendly and helpful staff. On the night we visited, staff outnumbered visitors do we got good attention but without it being over the top. The food was good and freshly cooked which meant there was a small delay between ordering and food arriving, but not overly long.

Lovely little place in a beautiful spot. Clean, tidy and the food is excellent! People are fantastic and they have a sweet dog in the bar! (they'll put it away if that's not your thing though)

Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons

Church Road, Great Milton, Oxford OX44 7PD, UK – 01844 278881

Was lucky enough to be the recipient of a visit to the Manor as a gift. It is worth a visit just to visit the house and grounds, the gardens were stunning and there are some beautiful water features. The food lived up to high expectations and the staff were discreetly attentive, helpful and friendly. Would recommend a visit if you have the opportunity.

Hair in my food! I was mortified as that was the last thing I expected from a restaurant of this calibre. The venue was beautiful and the food didn’t blow me away but was still good. We had the lunch 6 course set menu. As it was my birthday celebration I expected everything to be perfect but my second starter had a short strand of hair and i only noticed after finishing my meal as it was hidden under my fish... it just put me off and i had to check the rest of my dishes (only being on the second course). I mentioned it to the waiter who simply mumbled what i made out to be an apology but he didn’t seem that concerned. Our meal cost £310 for two people and I didn’t think it was value for money nor the high standard I expected.
